Ottawa Public Health (OPH) has launched a series of free online prenatal and parenting videos on their OPH YouTube Infant Health Series playlist. This new resource aims to support patients who are parents and/or parents-to-be.
The new ‘How to’ OPH videos, also available on the Parenting in Ottawa page, cover 8 popular topics in both French and English. These videos offer practical parenting tips in easily accessible online formats, supporting pre- and postnatal education.
The following topics are covered in the videos:
- Managing nausea and vomiting during pregnancy
- Monitoring fetal movements
- Timing contractions
- Managing infant’s inconsolable crying
- Tummy time
- Safe sleep
- Soothing infant gas
- Trimming newborn nails
The videos are intended to serve as valuable teaching tools for first-time parents and may provide helpful reminders for experienced parents who are expecting another child. The goal is to provide parents with free, reliable and easily accessible parenting information.
